Cincinnati’s Bunk Spot Gallery is Showcasing Disheveled, Deteriorating Architecture…

Should you happen to be in the Cincinnati area this coming Friday, November 29th and wish to take a break from (or completely avoid) the Black Friday rush, locals Jim Swill and Ben Brown will be presenting a free (yes, I said FREE) joint show at Bunk Spot Gallery, titled “Total Facade”, focusing on deteriorating and damaged buildings.

While Brown has been a curator for Bunk News — a gallery and local art collective –, both him and Swill have lived in California and much of the work being presented at the show was made during their tenure in the Golden State. The pieces in question will most be photographic work (collages included), and according to Swill, the buildings shown in the gallery will work “as a narrative to discuss time and mortality.”

The main show (which just so happens to also be B.Y.O.B.) begins this Friday at 7pm and will last until 11pm, but at the 9pm mark, Swill’s short film Burner Phone will be shown. You’ll also be able to get some free swag — like black-and-white posters — but come early as it is first come first serve.

Friday, November 29th, 7PM – 11PM. Free admission.
Bunk Spot Gallery, 544 E. 12th Street, 45202
