Watch “You Cannot Kill David Arquette”!

Jumping off from that quote below the trailer video, does anyone remember that while David Arquette was promoting his 2000 movie “Ready to Rumble,” he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in a storyline stunt both he and fans of professional wrestling despised? Yup, you probably do and Pepperidge Farms DEFINATELY does, but let’s not focus on that for now… Let’s fast-forward to 2018 — … Continue reading Watch “You Cannot Kill David Arquette”!

Milla Jovovich to Star in Live-Action ‘Monster Hunter’ Movie; is THIS why we can’t have nice things…

For the last two years or so (so, since around 2016), director, Paul W. S. Anderson — who’s directed two of my favorite films: Mortal Kombat and Event Horizon) has been working on a Monster Hunter movie. While I can now actually audibly hear you roll your eyes to the back of your head over the scoffing, we now also know that the film has a star, Anderson’s wife and actress Milla Jovovich. For your own safety I heavily recommend that you stop rolling your eyes further back; just looking out for you. Anyway, Variety reports that Anderson recently delivered the latest draft of the film’s script, and the Monster Hunter film adaptation will begin shooting this September in South Africa. It has also been reported that special effects studio Mr. X will be involved, having worked with Anderson on the special effects for the Resident Evil movies. The Italian Villa Featured in “Call Me By Your Name” Is Up For Sale

The sprawling and well-preserved 16th century Italian villa featured prominently in the Academy Award nominated coming-of-age film, Call Me By Your Name, is for sale. The film’s director Luca Guadagnino told Architectural Digest “”I had known that house for many years; I even dreamed of buying that house. I knew where I was going to set the action of the film—this place with faded, aristocratic charm, that a professor and his wife might have inherited but can’t quite keep up.” Continue reading “The Italian Villa Featured in “Call Me By Your Name” Is Up For Sale”

Donnie Yen confirms “Sleeping Dogs” Film Adaptation is in Production

Image result for sleeping dogs movie

Around this time last year, it was reported that Donnie Yen cast to star in a film based on the game Sleeping Dogs, developed by United Front Games and published by Square-Enix in 2012. To be perfectly honest, the casting of Yen as the game’s protagonist, Wei Shen, makes perfect sense; Sleeping Dogs is essentially a mash-up of numerous films in Yen’s filmography. Taking to Instagram without even saying (while somewhat implying) that the film was in shooting, Yen confirmed that this latest video game-to-film adaptation has entered production. Here’s a ‘Grand Theft Auto’ Fan Film Made with LEGO!

Man, it SURE has been a while since The PractitioNERD posted any sort of a LEGO-related story, but I’m glad we could get back on that 1000-piece LEGO train (toot-TOOOOT). With the success of the theatrical LEGO films (The LEGO Movie & The LEGO Batman Movie) and the unlikelyhood of a movie based on the Grand Theft Auto video game series (likely due to the rights to the movie title; THANKS Ron Howard), it’s very evident that these two brands will never officially mesh together. HOWEVER, the lovely concept of fan films DOES exist. YouTube movie maker love Nukazooka latest short brings the two together to create a winning combination.

Groundhog Day is an interesting and unique movies that somehow has the ability to balance the weight of its central premise — which is essentially time-travel via the constant repetition of a single day — while still showcasing excellent character development and laughs. Watch the Architecture Profession take a Satirical Turn in “The Architect”…

Aside from the frequent looks into the life of architect Ted Moseby from the TV series “How I Met Your Mother,” the architecture field hasn’t quite been a target for satire in the entertainment space. That brings me to “The Architect“, a new film directed by Jonathan Parker that brings forth the drama and comedy of the profession. The film features a humorous — yet somewhat believable in some cases — satire of architects, with character of the egocentric, self-centered and grandiose architect Miles Moss, portrayed by James Frain, who is working with a couple who wants him to design their dream home. Well golly-gee-whiz; what could POSSIBLY go wrong?!? Continue reading “Watch the Architecture Profession take a Satirical Turn in “The Architect”…”
