Watch “You Cannot Kill David Arquette”!

Jumping off from that quote below the trailer video, does anyone remember that while David Arquette was promoting his 2000 movie “Ready to Rumble,” he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in a storyline stunt both he and fans of professional wrestling despised? Yup, you probably do and Pepperidge Farms DEFINATELY does, but let’s not focus on that for now… Let’s fast-forward to 2018 — … Continue reading Watch “You Cannot Kill David Arquette”!

Yes, you read that correctly: L.U.C.H.A.: A Wrestling Sci-Fi Thriller. Now’s THAT’S an attention -grabbing title for a comic book, or practically anything. According to co-creators CW Cooke and Travis Hymel, here’s the main story of their series:

L.U.C.H.A. is the story of Agente, a luchador detective who spends his life solving low level crimes and murders, taking on any job that falls in his lap. He just so happens to get wrapped up in a murder campaign that involves vampires, wrestlers, and other notorious figures before the rug gets pulled out from under him…and the readers!

Learning is a wonderful thing that I refuse to take for granted. Practically everyday we have a chance to learn some new fact, story, skill, and various other things everyday. This past week, I learned of the certain rules that WWE, WrestleCade, ROH and several promotions headed to New Orleans for the week of WrestleMania 34 have to abide by. This information is all thanks to an interview from Post Wrestling’s John Pollock with Russell Naquin of the Louisiana Boxing and Wrestling Commission. OF COURSE, WWE Legend Mick Foley Fought The Walking Dead’s Negan At A Comic Con Last Weekend…

Let’s get the main story out-of-the-way first. Okay; this past weekend at Paradise City Comic Con (in Miami, FL),  WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley saved two people cosplaying as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters Casey Jones and April O’Neil from being attacked by someone cosplaying as The Walking Dead‘s Negan by performing his Mandible Claw submission hold on him during a cosplay wrestling event. Let that sink in for a bit, and I’ll be back with you after the break. Continue reading “OF COURSE, WWE Legend Mick Foley Fought The Walking Dead’s Negan At A Comic Con Last Weekend…”

Macaulay Culkin Used ‘Home Alone’ Tactics & Traps To Help Santa Win A Wrestling Match

It’s stories like these that remind me how much I love professional wrestling…

One week ago, Los Angeles-based Bar Wrestling held its final show of the year. This promotion’s shows are so well-received and in such high-demand that many shows are standing -room only. They’re kinda of like CHIKARA and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), as Bar Wrestling puts on a fun show filled with some of Southern California’s best wrestling talent (here’s some of their DVDs/Blu-rays from Highspots). On their last show for 2017, Joey Ryan dressed up as sexy Santa Claus and teamed up with Candace LeRay (dressed as an elf) and Dick Justice (as a “Supercop Santa”) against “Professional” Peter Avalon, Ray Rosas and (Horn)Swoggle. My match was really funny and…wait…hold on…is…is that…THAT’S MACAULAY CULKIN SITTING IN THE FRONT ROW! When a Public Library in Wisconsin hosts a Pro Wrestling Show…

Those of use who have attended professional wrestling events are accustomed to them being hosted in from football stadiums, basketball/hockey arenas and local gymnasiums.  I for one have attended wrestling shows in parking lots, carnivals/fairs, VFW halls, stage theaters, night clubsand bar/grill restaurants, and these locations are very creative from a logistical point-of-view. It really rings true that pro wrestling can really work anywhere, and it seems that the Milwaukee Public Library are believers (or BO-Lievers) in that philosophy, too.
