Dude Uses Dog Shock Collar To Keep His Gaming Rage In Check

…and yes; HILARITY ENSUES!

So here’s the deal, Martin “AmbossTV” Rabl has a habit of getting mad at FIFA 15. I’m talking REALLY mad. Perhaps a little too mad. I mean, I can understand this as I am too a gamer who suffers from the bout of flailing, wailing gamer rage every now-and-then. But Rabl feels that he’s found a solution by utilizing a shock collar; the same kind of device intended to keep dogs from barking by giving him a quick jolt when he starts raging out too loud. I can’t lie, it looks PRETTY uncomfortable.

The Videogame History Museum is in Frisco, Texas?!? Yay!

I suppose it’s time for us gamers in South Texas to start making a pilgrimage to the Videogame History Museum.  What’s nice is that we won’t have to travel TOO far, but at this time most of its collection is in storage, and what we’ve been able to see concerning it was on cross-country tours at various gaming conferences and conventions. But in the near future, there will be a permanent public display, as the Frisco, Texas community board has approved a deal to give the Museum a 10,400 square foot location (roughly a bit larger than a baseball diamond) inside the city’s Discovery Center by this April, and then we retro gaming nerds can easily revisit some of the classic games and consoles that defined our childhood. Is This Video Game Retro or Modern? Well, It’s BOTH!!

While finding retro-style game projects on Kickstarter is pretty common, this one is pretty different: it’s a game cartridge that plays the 8-bit version of the game when plugged into the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), and plays the updated/modern version OF THE SAME GAME when plugged into a computer via USB (PC & Mac). PLUS, the two versions of the game interact with each other; as an ability or weapon unlocked in one version becomes available to the other. Of course, the Kickstarter has to be SUCCESSFUL, first. PBS’ Game/Show on How Net Neutrality Effects Gaming

I’ve covered PBS Digital Studios’ YouTube series Game/Show before regarding the harm fanboys/fangirls cause the gaming industry, but the show also covers some other apolitical, light topics like the morality of cheating in games and love for all things Zelda.  In a recent episode of Game/Show, host Jamin Warren takes on the timely topic of net neutrality, and more specifically, how it impacts the gaming industry and ourselves, the gamers. Though this episode of Game/Show only focuses on the smaller part of the net neutrality debate from the side of online gaming and digital distribution, it’s a topic that’s relevant to gamers, tech aficionados like myself, and people who work, make a living, and spend time contributing and browsing the internet (also like myself). SHAQ-FU! – PractitioNERD Doc’D #7

Shaquille O’Neal is a man of many names. Shaq. The Big Aristotle. Shaq Diesel. The Big Shaqtus. Superman. The Big Shamrock. Then there’s Shaq Fu; THEN there’s the infamous 1994 game based on said nickname: ‘Shaq Fu’. This month on Doc’D, host Montez McCrary takes you back to the height of Shaq-Mania and gives the skinny on Shaq – the man – and Shaq Fu … Continue reading SHAQ-FU! – PractitioNERD Doc’D #7
